James Island Outreach (JIO) has three part-time employees. All other work is performed by volunteers. Please consider helping others through your service as a volunteer with James Island Outreach. Affiliation with a church is not required to volunteer.
- Charity Tracker Agent (additional training with United Way is required)
- Assisting clients with shopping in the Wellness, Client Choice Pantry (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
- Stocking the food pantry
- Picking up donations in the community and delivering them to JIO
- Breaking down boxes and assisting with our recycling efforts
- and more!
All volunteers are required to attend a one-hour Volunteer Training Session before volunteering. Training sessions are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, except June, July, November, and December. Training sessions takes place at James Island Outreach from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Training for 2019 will resume on August 22, 2019 at 6 p.m.
