James Island Outreach (JIO) has three part-time employees. All other work is performed by volunteers. Please consider helping others through your service as a volunteer with James Island Outreach. Affiliation with a church is not required to volunteer. All volunteers are required to attend a one-hour Volunteer Training Session before volunteering. Training sessions are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, except in November and December. The training session takes place at James Island Outreach from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Charity Tracker Agent (additional training with United Way is required)
- Assisting clients with shopping in the Wellness, Client Choice Pantry (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
- Stocking the food pantry
- Picking up donations in the community and delivering them to JIO
- Breaking down boxes and assisting with our recycling efforts
- and more!
