Deadline for HART Donation Matching Grant Opportunity

July 9

In everything we do, James Island Outreach seeks to provide genuine compassion, care and assistance to families and individuals in crisis. We recognize that maintaining a safe and healthy home is critical for the well-being of those we serve. Securing the resources and funding for home repairs can be difficult for many of our neighbors, and assistance with home repairs is frequently requested by JIO clients.

That’s where HART comes in. James Island Outreach is happy to introduce the new Home Accessibility and Repairs Team, an extension of our programming at James Island Outreach. We help people from all walks of life navigate home repairs ranging from leaky toilets, to roof repairs, to disability ramps, and more. Our clients are low income, many on fixed retirement or disability.

A few ways that HART serves the community:

  • Visit homes to assess the needed repairs
  • Complete minor and major repairs utilizing a combination of community partners and contractors
  • Partner with Sea Island Habitat for Humanity to sponsor critical home repairs for JIO clients including materials costs and directing volunteers to SIHH projects.
  • Follow up to ensure repairs are made and living environments are safe and healthy

Have a “HART”! Double your gift today!

James Island Outreach has been offered a $10,000 matching grant and we need your donation to reach our goal. We are seeking $10,000 before July 9. Every dollar given* will be matched!

Make your gift today to help a neighbor in need of home repairs. Your gift will be doubled!
