Welcome Madison!

James Island Outreach welcomes Madison Grant, an AmeriCorps servicemember, who will be filling the role of Family Navigator at James Island Outreach.  Her service year started this week and runs through July 2025.  In her role as Family Navigator, her primary responsibilities will include new client onboarding, needs assessment and referrals to our programs or local partners.   She will also lead the effort to establish an interactive, self-service resource center to provide our clients and all visitors to the Outreach with information about agencies in the local area who have missions similar to ours – helping our neighbors in need.

Madison is a James Island native, having graduated from James Island Charter School.  She subsequently graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  In addition to her AmeriCorps service, she is employed as a full-time research assistant, working at MUSC.  Previously she has been a fellow with the National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, North Carolina State University,  and MUSC.  Her hobbies include scuba diving, hiking, and reading.  She is also a member of Morris Brown AME Church.
